Colorectal cancer screening Artificial intelligence Gut microbiome Healthcare innovation

Microb-AI-ome continues making progress towards improving colorectal cancer screening through microbiome analysis and artificial intelligence.

The project investigates whether gut microbiome signatures combined with AI can support earlier and more accurate detection of colorectal cancer while helping reduce unnecessary colonoscopies compared to current screening approaches.

Through its interdisciplinary European consortium, Microb-AI-ome combines expertise in clinical medicine, microbiome science, bioinformatics and federated AI to support the development of privacy-preserving healthcare technologies for future screening programmes.
