Microb-AI-ome General Assembly Meeting '24/25
Microb-AI-ome General Assembly meets at Sapienza University of Rome
The Microb-AI-ome consortium met at Sapienza University of Rome on 9 and 10 December 2024 for the project’s General Assembly meeting.
The meeting brought together project partners to review progress across the work packages, discuss scientific, technical, clinical, ethical, dissemination and management activities, and coordinate priorities for the next phase of the project.
The discussions helped strengthen alignment across the consortium and supported the continued implementation of Microb-AI-ome’s interdisciplinary work on privacy-preserving artificial intelligence, microbiome research and colorectal cancer risk stratification.
Microb-AI-ome and dAIbetes exchange on federated AI
On 11 December 2024, Microb-AI-ome joined a workshop with the sister project dAIbetes, also coordinated by the University of Hamburg.
The workshop created an opportunity for exchange between two Horizon Europe projects working with federated learning, artificial intelligence and privacy-preserving approaches in health research.
What is dAIbetes?
dAIbetes develops federated learning approaches and internationally trained virtual twin models to support personalised prediction of treatment outcomes in type 2 diabetes.
Like Microb-AI-ome, the project addresses the challenge of enabling data-driven health research while protecting sensitive patient information.
Why this exchange matters
Collaboration with sister projects supports knowledge exchange, strengthens synergies and helps connect complementary European research efforts working on privacy-preserving artificial intelligence for health.
