Microb-AI-ome Hackathon
Microb-AI-ome and dAIbetes partners join forces for federated learning hackathon
Partners from the Horizon Europe projects Microb-AI-ome and dAIbetes came together at Sapienza University of Rome for the hackathon “Federated Learning, from data harmonization to federated AI training”.
The event created a hands-on opportunity for experts to exchange knowledge and explore innovative approaches for federated AI training, data harmonization and collaborative biomedical research.
By connecting two sister projects working on privacy-preserving artificial intelligence in health research, the hackathon strengthened technical exchange and supported the development of shared expertise in federated learning.
From data harmonization to federated AI training
The hackathon focused on practical exchange around federated learning workflows, helping participants explore how biomedical data can be used collaboratively while supporting privacy-preserving approaches.
Sister-project collaboration
The hackathon built on the collaboration between Microb-AI-ome and dAIbetes, two Horizon Europe projects coordinated by the University of Hamburg and connected by their work on federated learning and AI-driven biomedical research.
